School Leadership Team

Each public school in New York City is required to establish an SLT with an equal number of parents and staff members. The members are elected for a two-year term, with parent elections usually taking place in late spring and teacher elections in early fall. The SLT includes the principal, UFT union representative, and PTA president.

The SLT's main responsibility is to develop and implement the school's annual Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP). Additionally, they work on aligning the school's budget with the CEP to achieve yearly goals. The team also organizes workshops for parents and teachers to address school and home challenges.

Meetings are held once a month on a Friday at 7:30 AM. Please check the website for meeting dates and locations. Even if not officially elected, members of the community are welcome to attend meetings to observe and are encouraged to communicate with elected representatives outside of meetings with any concerns or suggestions.
